Buildings modernisation strategy: Roadmap 2050

There are over 5 million single-family houses in Poland, most of which are poorly insulated against heat loss or not insulated at all. What is more almost 70% of Polish singlefamily houses are heated with the use of coal boilers and furnaces which emit a significant amount of pollutants (the so called low-stack emission). That issue can be solved by increasing energy efficiency of buildings and exchange of local heat sources. The effort associated with the preparation and implementation of a comprehensive thermal modernisation scheme and creating effective system of financial support for thermal modernisation of households brings tangible benefits: economic, social and environmental.
